Hi everyone:
I am no longer classified as a "youth", although I greatly value young persons perspectives, personally, and as it relates to my job.
With the non-profit group, Operation Springboard, I work with youth, age 12 - 18 years of age, regarding crime prevention, as well as alternatives to custody for first time non-violent offenders.
The Y.O.A. changed to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A) on April 1st (ironic?) of this year.
I wanted to know what people around the world think about the changes, if they know about the changes, and your thoughts of an education-based group of programs for at-risk youth (all encompassing term), both victims and perpetrators. If others would like to discuss in more detail, I'll share a bit about our program, who we are working with, and how it's going.
Thanks so much for your time.
Springboard
